Ten Mile River to Hardy Creek
This long, narrow section begins at Highway 1, MM 70.00, on the north bank of Ten Mile River, and follows this state route north for 13.5 miles. At the mouth of Hardy Creek, Highway 1 leaves the ocean behind as it winds inland and ends at Highway 101 in Leggett.
MacKerricher State Park
This section covers the north half of MacKerricher State Park and includes about 5 miles of Highway 1.
Mendocino Coast Botanical Gardens
The Mendocino Coast Audubon Society holds two monthly birdwalks at the Mendocino Coast Botanical Gardens. The walk on the first Saturday of every month meets at 9AM and is geared toward novice birders. The second, which is held on the third Wednesday of the month, meets at 8AM (April through October) or 8:30AM (November through March).
